Anamarie Villagomez, MS, RD, LD
(she/they)

Throughout childhood, Anamarie spent many family gatherings in the kitchen with grandparents, aunts, and uncles, cooking, laughing, and connecting with culture. As she grew up, she realized the harm of diet culture and recognized how it could take away one's connection to self. Throughout Anamarie’s journey studying Human Nutrition at The University of Arkansas, she found unbelievable empowerment in the field of dietetics as she debunked diet myths and discovered that all foods fit!

Since then, Anamarie has dedicated time to specializing in the intersection between hormonal and reproductive health and eating disorder care. In Anamarie’s graduate degree program at The University of Rhode Island, she completed a literature review on: The Influence of Anti-Inflammatory Dietary Patterns in Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). This experience allowed Anamarie to gain valuable insight into an evidence-based, multifaceted care approach that expanded into the non-diet, weight-inclusive care approach.

In the inpatient and community nutrition setting, Anamarie has experience working with people diverse in age, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. As a queer Mexican American woman, she is passionate about creating an inclusive space – centered around empathy.

On the weekends, you can probably find Anamarie outside at the dog park with Alfie, the family golden retriever, or starting a new craft project. She believes one should always be prepared for an impromptu game night, so in their car, underneath the tennis rackets and occasional paddle board, you can almost always find a fun board game to play! Familiar favorites include Blokus or Codenames!

Anamarie is a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Texas.  She is engaging in both in-person and telehealth sessions.
