Curissa Groll, MS, RD, LD
(she/her)

Curissa's upbringing on a quaint farm in the Coastal Bend Region of Texas, just outside Victoria, instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature, agriculture, and the culinary arts. Fond childhood memories include the joy of pulling carrots straight from the soil alongside her father—a moment that sparked her lifelong interest in nutrition, tracing the journey of food from seed to plate.

Originally on the path to a physical therapy degree, Curissa's passion shifted towards nutrition science. Her academic journey led her to Texas State University, where she successfully earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in nutrition, as well as completing a comprehensive dietetic internship.

Navigating the pervasive influence of diet culture throughout her life, Curissa encountered personal struggles with food, movement, and body image. This journey intensified her commitment to promoting a compassionate approach to overall health, transcending external appearances. Recognizing the intricacies of the human body and health disparities, Curissa's mission as a dietitian is to assist individuals in building healthier relationships with food, body, and movement. She strives to create an empowering and judgment-free environment for those on their health journey.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Curissa firmly believes in making nutrition education accessible to all. She welcomes clients seeking nutrition support, with a particular focus on individuals dealing with eating disorders, disordered eating, neurodivergence, food allergies, intolerances, and substance abuse. Her goal is to develop tailored approaches that prioritize each person's unique nutritional needs and well-being.

In her free time, Curissa finds joy in hiking, exploring random antique shops in any town she visits, tackling new and challenging recipes, and immersing herself in the vibrant live music and culinary scene of Austin.
